The fourth generation, R129 Series of iconic Mercedes-Benz SL models was launched at the 1989 Geneva Motorshow to critical acclaim.

Beautifully engineered, the R129 SL range bristled with technical refinement including an automated electro/hydraulic collapsible soft-top that with the touch of a button takes just 30 seconds to raise and lower.

Offered here is an Australian delivered second generation SL 280, sold new by Mercedes-Benz, NSW in March of 1996 optioned in Emerald green black metallic (Smaragdsschwarz) with colour coded bumpers over black leather and walnut trim.

In very excellent and original condition, accompanied by an impeccable service history from new, this especially usable modern classic carries all the hallmarks of a well-kept car from the brilliant condition of the leather steering wheel to the typically Germanic precision form-fit of the interior leathers across the dash and door panels, to the factory radio.
